Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs comes to the big screen at Centro Pecci Cinema on Sunday 4 October at 10:30 am, as part of Animiamoci. Screened in Italian.
The wicked queen orders her huntsman to kill Snow White, whom the talking mirror has declared the fairest of them all. The girl flees. Guided by the woodland animals, she reaches the house of the seven dwarves. Sneezy, Bashful, Sleepy, Grumpy, Doc, Happy, and Dopey welcome her and protect her. When the queen, transformed into a witch, arrives to kill her, the dwarves chase the wicked girl, who falls from a ravine. Snow White, watched over by her friends as if she were dead, comes back to life when she is kissed by the smitten young prince.

Easy, childish, sentimental, saccharine, but only apparently. In reality, the film contained precise meanings, even very serious ones (for example, the hyperactivity of the dwarves, at a time when America was still struggling with the economic crisis), and in any case it conveyed messages of non-gratuitous joy, earned through hard work and pain: the terrible fight with the witch".
