On Sunday 17 May 2026 at 3.30 pm, the Centro per l’arte contemporanea Luigi Pecci in Prato will take part in the Turin International Book Fair, at the Regione Toscana Stand, with the presentation of the catalogue for the exhibition VIVONO. Art and Affections, HIV-AIDS in Italy. 1982–1996, alongside the educational projects developed in connection with the exhibition.
The event will feature contributions by Stefano Collicelli Cagol, Director of Centro Pecci, Michele Bertolino, curator of the exhibition, and Irene Innocente, Head of Educational Activities and Accessibility at Centro Pecci.
The event offers an opportunity to explore the themes and contents of the exhibition through a narrative that brings together contemporary art, collective memory, education, and cultural engagement. During the event, publications by Axis Axis will be presented alongside a selection of materials, photographs, and testimonies documenting the work carried out by Centro Pecci on issues related to HIV and AIDS, from the 1990s to the present day.
Particular attention will be given to the educational programmes developed by the museum’s education department for upper secondary schools. Designed both for school groups visiting the museum and for mixed student groups during school assemblies, these programmes have engaged students in moments of discussion and reflection starting from the artworks featured in the exhibition and the historical documents presented, with the support of museum educators and professionals in the fields of psychology and pedagogy.
As the lead institution of the Rete del Contemporaneo in Toscana (Tuscan Contemporary Art Network), Centro Pecci will also contribute to the stand’s display with a selection of catalogues and publications produced by the network’s partner institutions, offering an overview of Tuscany’s vibrant contemporary cultural production and highlighting the work of the organisations active across the region.
