The exhibition features a selection from among the hundreds of works donated to Centro Pecci by Carlo Palli in 2025. This donation, one of the largest ever made by a private individual to an Italian contemporary art institution, follows that of 2006 and constitutes an important cultural and material enrichment for the Center and the city of Prato as a whole.

The project aims to showcase Carlo Palli's passion for contemporary art by exploring the favorite "routes" of the Prato-based collector, who is primarily interested in unconventional practices that challenge tradition and break the rules. It traces the poetic revolution of Gruppo 70, the liveliness of the Fluxus movement, the appropriations and reworkings of Nouveau Réalisme, the fascination of artists with objects, developments in practices such as writing and painting, innovations in procedural and conceptual forms, and the affirmation of the female imagination in the neo-avant-garde.

This exhibition is part of Passaggi: di mano in mano, the Centro Pecci’s 2026 cultural programme. Discover the programme ↗
