Saturday, October 4, Centro Pecci will take part in the Twenty-First Contemporary Art Day, an initiative promoted by AMACI – the Association of Italian Contemporary Art Museums – with the support of the Ministry of Culture and in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The museum will offer free admission for the entire day.
Contemporary Art Day is Italy’s largest event dedicated to contemporary art.
Now in its twenty-first edition, the 2025 theme is education, understood as a process of learning, research, and the exchange of experiences and knowledge. The key visual was created by the collective Atelier dell’Errore, whose project Unknown Pleasures – The Shelter invites visitors to imagine an intimate and protected space, a refuge of freedom and shared desires.
At Centro Pecci, visitors can explore:
-
VIVONO. Art and Affection, HIV-AIDS in Italy. 1982–1996, an exhibition that reconstructs the forgotten history of HIV-AIDS in Italy through art, memory, and testimony.
-
Light Lights by Davide Stucchi, a work exploring new possibilities of perception through light.
-
Eccentrica. The Centro Pecci Collections, the permanent collection showcasing forty years of artistic research.
Contemporary Art Day is promoted by AMACI – the Association of Italian Contemporary Art Museums, with the support of the Directorate-General for Contemporary Creativity of the Ministry of Culture and in collaboration with the Directorate-General for Public and Cultural Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
With the patronage of the European Commission Representation in Italy, UPI – Union of Italian Provinces, and ICOM Italy.
