In search of alternatives to the status quo, the filmmakers also come to our home in Campi Bisenzio to tell the story of the former GKN factory collective. Summatively fired by the owners—a foreign financial fund—the workers respond with a new industrial plan: transforming work by converting the factory, not to a war economy, but to a green economy, to produce cargo bikes and photovoltaic panels to serve local energy communities. A factory that serves the common good.
Because it's true: "we live in the shadow of the world we could have," and imagining other futures is not only necessary, but also possible.
