David, a thirty-year-old Argentinean, Jewish, homosexual and overweight, returns to Buenos Aires from Italy (where he has since broken up with his partner) due to the death of his uncle. He is welcomed by his sister, his elderly mother and another aunt and immediately reveals his introverted, capricious and eternally sullen nature. After the funeral, David also learns the most shocking news: his mother has decided to remove his father from the artificial respirator that is keeping him alive. And David, who has always had a complicated relationship with his parent, falls into a state of deep crisis.

"A dazzling debut by Argentine Iair Said in a delicate, bittersweet comedy about the elaboration of mourning, generational existential unease and the meaning of family. [...] With this film, Iair Said confirms himself as a promising director. [...] Some have compared his style to that of authors such as Woody Allen or Pedro Almodóvar: influences that are certainly present, but that coexist with a mark much closer to the sensitivity of mumblecore. The film is in fact coherently in the wake of the American independent movement represented by directors such as Joe Swanberg, Lynn Shelton and the brothers Jay and Mark Duplass. A still vital current, perceptible here in the constant shaking of the hand-held camera, in that uncertain but attentive eye turned towards the small daily events that mainstream cinema tends to ignore."
