Dj Ahmet by Georgi M. Unkovski
Dj Ahmet by Georgi M. Unkovski

A remote village in North Macedonia. Ahmet is a 15-year-old boy from the Yuruk Turkish minority. His widowed father forces him to abandon his studies to tend twenty sheep and care for his 5-year-old brother Naim, who no longer speaks. He seeks refuge in the music he loves, and one night he finds himself at a rave in the woods, where for a moment he imagines he's in his own world.

"Successfully presented at the Sundance Film Festival, where it won the Special Jury Prize for Creative Vision and the Audience Award, DJ Ahmet is a bucolic fairy tale that skillfully blends the ancient and the modern, using the love story of the two protagonists as an explosive force for change and renewal." (Fabio Fulfaro)
